Experience the authentic Andean world with our Tour Alpacas and Rituals, a cultural journey that connects you deeply with nature and ancestral traditions.

Our adventure begins in the morning with a warm welcome, setting the tone for genuine experiences that immerse you in the living heritage of the Andean peoples. The Tour Alpacas and Rituals invites you to explore the rich cultural fabric of these communities through meaningful encounters.

We start with a walk to the community alpaca breeding project in Morochos, where you will learn about the vital role these animals play socially, economically, and culturally. This part of the Tour Alpacas and Rituals highlights the importance of alpacas in traditional weaving and their symbolic value in shaping the community’s identity.

Next, the tour leads you to a botanical garden filled with ancestral knowledge. Here, native plants are showcased along with their medicinal, culinary, and ritual uses. This garden is a key highlight of the Tour, reflecting the balance between biodiversity and indigenous worldview. To conclude the day, you will take part in a unique spiritual experience: a purification ceremony led by a local yachak (shaman) at the sacred site called Tundun. This spiritual bath offers a chance to renew your energy, reflect, and reconnect with Mother Earth (pachamama), wrapping up your Tour experience with a profound moment of inner harmony and transformation.

🦙 🌿 For those looking to deepen their connection, additional activities are available during the Tour Alpacas and Rituals. One option is an individual ritual bath guided by the yachak, offering a personalized spiritual journey at an extra cost. 🦙 🌿 Another optional experience is the demonstration of alpaca wool shearing, where you’ll witness this ancient, respectful practice and learn about its traditional knowledge. This can be arranged ahead of time to complement your Tour adventure.

Visit to the Garden of Dreams

After visiting the alpaca breeding project, we will head to the charming community of La Calera, where an enriching experience awaits us at the Garden of Dreams. This natural treasure is lovingly cared for by Inés, a wise guardian of ancestral knowledge. During the tour, Inés will guide us through medicinal and aromatic plants, sharing wisdom passed down through generations. We will learn about the many healing and spiritual uses of each plant, which play a vital role in Andean Rituals and the daily life of the community. This moment connects us not only with the earth but also with the Andean worldview, perfectly complementing the experience from the alpaca breeding project. It is undoubtedly an essential part of our “Tour Alpacas and Rituals,” where every step reveals the depth of local culture.
