Pachamama Feeds Us Tour
Pachamama Feeds Us Tour: 2 days/ 1 night
Pachamama Feeds Us Tour – Pachamama, or Mother Earth, is far more than an ancestral concept. She is life, abundance, and the sacred bond between humans and nature. Honored by Andean communities as the mother who nurtures, protects, and sustains, Pachamama has guided traditional agricultural practices for centuries—practices that remain the foundation of rural life and Andean civilization.
The Pachamama Feeds Us Tour offers a two-day, one-night journey into this living heritage. Set near Cotacachi, Ecuador, this experience invites you to join rural families in their everyday work, share meals at their tables, and take part in the collective spirit that sustains the land and its people.
Day 1: Working with the Land
At 9:00 a.m., we’ll visit a nearby community where a local family welcomes us into their home and farmland. Together, we’ll learn about traditional agriculture—clearing the soil, preparing furrows, and planting crops like legumes and vegetables. With the guidance of experienced hands, you’ll connect deeply with the land and the true value of food.
At 11:00 a.m., we’ll join a community cooking workshop, using fresh ingredients from the garden to prepare lunch. These local recipes are full of identity, culture, and flavor. After lunch, at 1:30 p.m., we return to the field to harvest crops, which will be shared at the community fair known as the Pachamama Feeds Us Tour.
At 4:00 p.m., we arrive in La Calera, where a cozy homestay awaits. In the evening, we’ll share dinner with our host family, ending the day with stories and heartfelt connection.
Day 2: Community Fair – The Heart of Local Economy
At 6:30 a.m., we accompany our families to the local fair. Here, we sell our harvest directly to the community, witness the role of solidarity in the economy, and enjoy an organic breakfast prepared by the women of the fair. Through shared dialogue, you’ll gain insight into their community leadership.
The Pachamama Feeds Us Tour nourishes both body and soul. Book now and be part of this transformative experience with Pachamama.
