Your journey begins at 8:00 AM with pickup from your accommodation in Otavalo, Cotacachi, or the community of La Calera. A scenic two-hour drive in private transport winds through misty mountains and vibrant green valleys, with photo stops along the way to capture Ecuador’s untouched tropical beauty.

 

Our first stop is the traditional sugar mill of Don Fausto. Here, you’ll witness the artisanal process of extracting sugarcane juice and learn how panela and dark sugar are made. Enjoy a refreshing tasting of freshly pressed cane juice—just one of the sensory highlights of the Intag Tour Aroma.

 

We then continue to the coffee farm of Doña Natalia, our welcoming host and coffee expert. She’ll guide you through the entire coffee-making process: from planting and harvesting to depulping, drying, and traditional wood-fired roasting. You’ll even have the chance to roast your own beans and brew a fresh cup, served with locally grown yuca. This hands-on moment is one of the most flavorful memories you’ll make on the Intag Tour Aroma.

 

Afterward, we’ll recharge with a delicious traditional lunch featuring local ingredients and home-cooked flavors. The final touch of the tour brings us to the soothing natural hot springs of Intag. Here, you can unwind in the warm, healing waters—perfect for ending a day filled with culture, flavor, and nature.
